API changelog

/v3 is additive-only, so every entry here is something gained. Newest first.

2026-07-31: v3 launch surface#

The first public release of the versioned developer API:

• Catalog: 22 TMDB-shaped read endpoints (details, seasons, popular, trending, discover, search, find by external id, recommendations, collections, networks, people).
• Sync reads: watched shows and movies, history (paginated), playback, watchlist, ratings, favorites, lists and items, up next, tracked shows, last activities, and GET /v3/me.
• Writes: scrobble start, pause, and stop; history, watchlist, ratings, favorites, playback; list create, delete, and batch item management with the ids-input contract.
• Public reads: community lists, list search, tags, a user's public lists, public list items, and the global calendar.
• Auth: device-code flow (RFC 8628), session rotation, API keys with read and write scopes.
• Contracts: the ids block on every Trakt-shaped object, pagination headers, Retry-After on 429, additive-only stability.
• This documentation, including llms.txt and raw markdown variants of every page.
