On the first night of the cruise ship Orizzonte's voyage, the crew rescue 28 migrants from a fishing boat that is on fire.
Arrigo battles with the difficult moral choice after being told to disembark the migrants. A meeting is organised between the migrants and passengers.
The ship docks in Tunis but local authorities refuse to accept the migrants. With the passengers exploring the city, the migrants roam the ship.
Edith spreads the news that migrants on board will be handed over to the Libyans. Tareq's past life is discovered by Ibrahim.
Tareq holds the cruise ship hostage and orders that they return to Italy. After Arrigo has a panic attack, Edith formally takes command.
After the ship is surrounded by the military, Tareq demands to arrange a deal. Dilleta discovers she is pregnant.
The news of the hijacking goes public, meaning there will be no compromise: Tareq and the others must surrender.
Tareq makes an announcement to the ship telling his true story, but a sudden death unleashes the rage of the migrants.
