Many went to war knowing they might not return. Young South Africans fought a covert conflict as Namibians lived under occupation. Now, their daughters are left to reckon with the legacy of this war.

As the Border War intensified, individuals on all sides faced impossible choices. Lines were drawn in the sand, where loyalties shifted and personal conviction collided with national duty.

While politicians waged war on the border, the real battles played out at home. Behind closed doors, families paid the price. Trauma became inheritance: no one returned the same, and the scars lasted.

Looking back is never easy. After the war, emotions linger and wounds remain unhealed. Betrayal cuts deep, and some can never return home. But through talking, healing begins.
