The God Question

Applying the laws of physics to the observable universe, science dates the universe as 13.8 billion years old. Its birth, a single explosion, giving rise to stars, planets and the chemistry required for life.

If one man appears to pose a greater threat to God than any other it is Charles Darwin and his theory of evolution. Darwin aimed a hammer blow at the traditional religious belief that creation was the outcome of six days of divine miracle-making.

Although brain activity has long been the subject of scientific study, how the firing of billions of neurons create “mind” and “awareness” is still scarcely understood. Why we are conscious beings remains largely a mystery.
