The Doll

Having made a fortune during the war, Stanisław Wokulski returns to Poland with only one goal in mind – to marry the beautiful Izabela Łęcka.

When Izabela's dreams of traveling to Paris go up in smoke, Stanisław suggests to her father that money is not his only investment resource.

Izabela exploits Stanisław's love to gain an opportunity to fulfill her journalistic ambitions. Marianna begins to take an interest in Ignacy.

An unexpected victory boosts Stanisław's ratings and brings him closer to Izabela. However, a poor evaluation of a certain auction could result in the buyer losing significantly.

The pair temporarily bid farewell to Warsaw. Izabela learns what it's like to live on the streets, and Stanisław tries to dig up a larger fortune.

When the truth ceases to be a secret, Stanisław's efforts may prove futile. Will he still be able to achieve what he desires?
