Idaho Experience

Idaho Experience examines the life and art of Archie Teater who, along with his wife, Patricia, engaged the country’s premier architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, to design an artist’s studio. But it’s Kent Hale, a mason from Oakley, who possesses the skills to fulfill Wright’s design. Thanks to preservationist Henry Whiting, the studio still stands as an example of architectural mastery.

Experience Harmon Killebrew’s life and legacy. From his humble beginnings in Payette, Idaho to baseball superstardom and his remarkable will to help others. We’ll explore some of Killebrew’s incredible feats with the Minnesota Twins, a special appearance on Late Night with David Letterman, and how Harmon’s charitable work continues to this day.

Idaho, with its strong faith, rich history and natural beauty, has many sites deserving of veneration. In this Idaho Experience, we explore Idaho’s faith through three places of worship that represent a small fraction of “Idaho’s Sacred Places”, the historic Cataldo Mission, the Center for Benedictine Life at The Monastery of St. Gertrude and the synagogue of Congregation Ahavath Beth Israel.

“Sacajawea of the Salmon River Valley” explores the history of Sacajawea through the eyes of Shoshone-Bannock tribal members. Randy’L Teton, who modeled for the U.S. Sacajawea dollar coin, guides us to historic places in the region while sharing stories of Sacajawea’s positive impact on the success of the Corps of Discovery as they traveled the West.

On June 5, 1976, Eastern Idaho woke up to a dam collapse on the Teton River. This documentary revisits the warnings ignored, the wall of water that erased towns, and the lives forever changed. Through survivors’ voices and rare footage, it asks how this disaster happened and what it still teaches us about trust, power, and nature. It’s a human story of loss, accountability, and resilience.
