During the late 1990s, Umeå was perceived as a safe place. When a woman is suddenly assaulted and raped in a park in the district of Haga, it becomes an event that will shake an entire city. A beginning of an awakening.

During an autumn night in 1999, three women are attacked within the space of an hour. Everything takes place in the Haga district in Umeå, and the police determine that it is a serial rapist, who will be called Hagamannen.

43-year-old Niklas Lindgren - who in 2006 was sentenced to 14 years in prison for attempted murder, two counts of aggravated rape, rape and attempted rape - was paroled today.
