I bought the cheapest mini-truck I could find at Bringatrailer.com, an online auction house that sells everything from Ferrari's to Ford Pintos. Then I tried to road trip it home from Alabama to Georgia.

Last time on Finnegan's Garage you saw me road trip this sweet 1985 Nissan 720 mini-truck home from Alabama and this time we get to workin out the kinks in the drivetrain. While it runs great, it is not the smoothest thing in the world. The problem is related to lowering the suspension without addressing the affects of relocated driveline. Lowering the truck changed the angles of both the u joints and the driveshaft and combined with a wasted carrier bearing, resulted in a wicked vibration that you could see and feel in the shifter.

The Roadkill Rotsun, my 1971 Datsun 240Z is falling apart. It's in need of massive surgery to prevent the floor from disintegrating from the body and also, it keeps breaking rearend parts. In episode 387 of Finnegan's Garage we locate a donor body and put a plan in place to make sure things don't get worse. It's official: the new roll cage is done for my 1961 Cadillac Coupe Deville. We can finally move on and make new progress working towards the goal of hearing it run and driving the car. Here's how we did it!

We drove my 1986 Chevrolet square body C30 truck stretch Limo across America while towing Stubby Bob, our most famous Roadkill project and Hot Wheels car. While causing inside the six-door limo, we took some time to answer your most important questions and here's the answers. It's gonna take a few weeks to edit the road trip video but trust me it's gonna be worth the wait.

We doin some straight up volunteer work in Episode 390 of Finnegan's Garage. This time we install a really nice rollbar into my neighbor's 1964 Chevy Nova that's destined for Sick Week 2026. We used a kit from Rhodes Race Cars and the install went pretty smoothly. We cut, notched and bent various pieces of the mild steel 6 point rollbar until it bolted into the Nova and then had it powdercoated red to match the interior. My neighbor took it a step further and modified the rear seat to fit back into the car for the ultimate in safety and style. Check it out.

Our friends from @FilthyBuilt and @OKRaceFabrication rebuilt the underside of The Rotsun and brought my favorite Datsun 240Z car to see if they could make it faster. Episode 392 of Finnegan's Garage contains the end of our Sick Week 2026 adventure as well as an epic roadside transmission replacement. On a small backroad in Florida something let loose inside of my Tick Performance-modified T56 gearbox and we were forced to replace it right next to the highway as cars wizzed by us. Thanks to my friends and neighbors we got it done and pressed on and attempted to finish the event.

The build happened as we drove from Bostick Racing Engines in Yuma, Arizona to Ten 10ths Motorsports in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Welcome to the 400th episode of Finnegan's Garage! We are celebrating 10 freaking years of making vids here and couldn't be more proud of the fun we've had together. In this Episode we attempt to drive The Stripper Limo, my 1986 Chevrolet six-door square body pickup, 17 miles to Mo's Speed Shop in Dallas, Georgia. Of course we broke down but we also found a great $10.00 cure for vapor lock, which was what plagued our pickup. The part you need to update your carbureted fuel system to avoid vapor lock is a WIX Filters PN 33040 three-port fuel filter. You can find it at your local parts store or online at Amazon.

Episode 401 of Mike Finnegan's Garage marks the very first time we've driven the mini-trucks on a road trip. We journeyed to Maggie Valley, North Carolina to attend the Southeast Mini Truckin Nationals and the event did not disappoint. The best collection of show trucks I've ever seen combined with an epic cruise spot made this an event we won't miss in 2027. To prepare for the trip we had to give my air bagged 1985 Toyota pickup a serious tune and figure out how to pack all of our gear into one truck bed because we weren't trailering the trucks to the show. Aside from running into some firewood left in the road we had zero issues but the same couldn't be said for a fellow mini trucker named Joey Johnson, who's GMC Sonoma caught fire while cruising the boulevard and burnt to the ground. Rest assured he's going to rebuild the truck and we are going to help out any way we can

Episode 402 is full of great stuff like info on my new Stripper Limo/Stubby Bob t-shirt, revealing the new powerplant for my wheelstanding dump truck aka Stubby Bob and we open some viewer mail.

Episode 403 of Finnegan's Garage begins with a road trip in the Stripper Limo, which is pulling Stubby Bob to the Mickey Thompson Turn and Burn event. Of course, there was some drama on the way there but we handled it like bosses and once at the event we proceeded to rip not only the Limo truck down the track but also my 1998 GMC Sierra shop truck, too.

Episode 404 of Finnegan's Garage takes us to Ohio for the Mickey Thompson Turn and Burn event. It's a drag and drive style event that sends participants on a road trip around Ohio as they take in the sights and make passes at Summit Racing Motorsports Park in Norwalk. We had so much fun making passes in both my supercharged 1998 GMC Sierra shop truck and my 489ci BBC-powered stretched limo Chevy Squarebody. Along the way we visited the prison from the movie Shawshank Redemption, got stuck in a ditch, installed a Nitrous Express system in the parking lot of a Summit Racing store, dodged lightning and had the time of our lives. This the 407th episode of Finnegan's Garage and this time we are completely disassembling the biggest engine I own, the 711ci Sonny Leonard Hemi. The goal is to find out how much damage we did by making one full throttle pass and then idling for 30 seconds afterward after completely losing oil pressure in the engine. We are hoping we didn't destroy the parts inside the engine because the are very nice.
