Emu (2007)

Overview

In 2007, Rod Hull’s son Toby revived Emu on CITV with a 26-part series, followed by another in 2009. Set first in Belfast, Toby hid Emu from a grumpy guard, helped by kid neighbours. Villainous Sophie tried to exploit Emu. In series two, set in Australia, Toby worked at a kids’ café, where Emu had to be kept secret from bird-allergic manager Kelly and pest inspector Leo Leach. The show aired until 2014 with puppeteer Nick Blake and director Danny Mulheron.
