After the sudden death of her devoted Aunt Olive, young country-girl Lucy has to start a new life wtih relatives in London. She does her best to adjust, but strange things start to happen in their old Victorian house...

Lucy has finally met and befriended house-ghost Alice, and travels back a hundred years to see the house in Alice's time. She arranges to meet Alice again - but will this be as straightforward as it seems?

Lucy has a surprise encounter with Alice once again while out on a Christmas shopping trip with her new family. The family themselves are worried about her, and try to help. Meanwhile, Alice has other plans for Lucy...

With Lucy's aunt and uncle - plus Alice's family - holding parties simultaneously, she has to decide where she'd rather be. Will Alice's pull be stronger, or will Lucy decide that she still belongs in the present day?

Lucy is still haunted by Alice, and must now make her final choice between her and the new family she's living with. But what ends will Alice go to in order to finally drag Lucy back into the past - and where will this leave Lucy?
