CBeebies Easter Ballet

Mr Bloom (Ben Faulks) takes a group of his “tiddlers” to see some real “nature magic” in an enchanting version of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale performed by the Northern Ballet. The dancers’ portrayals of their wildlife characters – frogs, cats and a fox as well as the ducks – are delightful and get their young audience giggling and copying their movements. Ugly Duckling was Northern Ballet's first ballet created for children and was choreographed by company dancers Dreda Blow and Sebastian Loe. The television adaptation of Ugly Duckling was commissioned by the BBC for CBeebies and was initially broadcast over Easter weekend.

Mr Bloom and the Tiddlers go on an adventure with three very funny little pigs. Will the pigs manage to build the perfect house or will the Big Bad Wolf get in the way? Delightful retelling of the traditional story, featuring dance performances by the Northern Ballet.

These are magical dancing shoes – clip clopping clogs, swirly waltzing pumps and shimmery shiny ballet pointes. Who is responsible for the magic? With the help of Mr Bloom and the Tiddlers, Mr and Mrs Shoemaker find out about their magical helpers and do some 'helping' too!
