Big Green Rabbit

Young Isabelle and her best friend Charlie, the Big Green Rabbit learn that calories are “little balls of energy” that are burned when you move, dance, and play. Concepts of healthy eating, exercise, and nature exploration are key components of this episode. Isabelle and Charlie visit the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and wonder what happened to the dinosaurs. Isabelle’s Mom reads her the fable “The Tortoise and the Hare,” inspiring Isabelle and Charlie to take an imaginary trip to the Galapagos Islands to challenge Lonesome George, the world’s oldest giant tortoise of his subspecies, to a race. Charlie soon realizes that he is more interested in becoming Lonesome George’s friend than his competitor. Charlie and Isabelle visit a farm where a cow named Bessie teaches them about organic food. Songs and dances include “The Organic Song” and “Moo La La.”

Charlie and Isabelle build a birdhouse and learn about what makes birds unique. Charlie discovers that not all birds can fly. Songs and dances include “Archaeopteryx,” “Umbrella Bird,” and “Toucan.”

Charlie and Isabelle visit a tropical rainforest where they meet a toucan, a rhino, and a Sykes monkey. Songs and dances include “Toucan,” “Rainforest,” “Symbiotic,” “Way of Life,” and more.

Isabelle takes Charlie to school for Show and Tell. She’s initially disappointed when the other children can’t see that Charlie is so much more than a stuffed animal. When the teacher is called away, Charlie comes to life and he and Isabelle teach the other children how much fun it is to dance and move.
