A Better Tomorrow

After the heist, Joey and the rest of the crew try to keep up normal operations. Eddie Marconi is welcomed into the group, he is a contact in Frank's wider network. He is competent and appears during plans but once the job is supposed to take place or there are other meetings he regularly leaves after getting calls. Joey's longtime friend Reggie, now an acholic but very efficient law enforcement investigator opens a formal case into the robbery and a related string of crimes in the area. He quickly figures out it is organized crime. Joey finds out and invites Reggie over for dinner. They talk about the case to avoid getting caught.

Frank assigns Joey, Vinny, David and Eddie to collect an overdue payment from a large casino that has repeatedly refused to pay the mafia its payment. The gang tries to settle it normally with extortion and blackmail, but the owners ambush the group, and Joey takes charge in the shootout and Eddie is second in command while David and Vinny defend but less efficiently. During the climax of the shootout David gets shot and Vinny carries him to safety as the rest of the gang kill the casinos owners and take the money and leave. Eddie has to leave and blames it on his wife. Reggie's team try to open an entirely new case, but he shuts it down and connects it to the robbery and the Leto Mafia. Reggie meets with Joey to tell him about this, and Joey carefully steers him away from him, his group, and Frank. Joey also moves Maria back into his house, giving her a second chance.

Joey, Vinny, and David are assigned to a high-risk high reward hit on the suspected rat, Eddie Marconi. that escalates beyond their expectations very quickly when they become stranded in the Catskill Mountains after a failed extraction. The group has to go through the harsh conditions while trying to complete the mission. Joey attempts to maintain control as leader, Vinny is still efficient but cracks jokes and teases David to keep the mood high. David and the rest of the group is forced to improvise when a snowstorm hits midway through. Vinny even ends up eating his shoe. They finally reach Eddie's location after 2 brutal days in the Catskill Mountains. They successfully execute the hit, and they are found by Frank's search party hours later, which unbeknownst to them was already deployed 1 day prior.
