Biography

Sarra Ryma is a French-Algerian filmmaker, screenwriter based in Paris. Her work explores themes of exile, identity, desire and belonging through visually driven narratives. Her short film À quoi rêvent les maknines premiered in competition at the Critics' Week of the Cannes Film Festival, where it received the Rail d'Or and the Valbonne Audience Award.
