Biography

Robert Wilson was the co-founder and legendary bass guitarist for the iconic R&B and funk group, The Gap Band, which he formed alongside his brothers Charlie and Ronnie Wilson. Known affectionately in the music community as the "Godfather of Bass Guitar," his driving, heavy synth-bass and slap-bass rhythms defined the funk movement of the late 1970s and 1980s.
