Rafael Salvatore is an Italo-Venezuelan photographer whose work is closely tied to the history and visual memory of Venezuelan cinema, through his role as a still photographer. Born in Lavello, Italy in 1946, Salvatore moved between several countries during his early life—living in Italy, France, Sweden and Argentina—before eventually settling in Venezuela.
