Biography

Born in 1986 in Hyogo, Japan, Nobuyuki Morikawa began his filmmaking career in earnest in 2018. Since making a striking directorial debut in 2022 with his first film gate, he has maintained a prolific pace, directing a series of primarily short films that showcase his evolving cinematic language. ​In 2023, his film "birthday" gained international acclaim as a finalist in the International Short Film Competition at the Accessible Film Festival in Turkey.
