Mia was born in Melbourne, Australia. She is a graduate of the New York Film Academy (Acting) and Monash University (Theatre Studies & Journalism). She began her career playing leading roles for theatre companies across Australia and New Zealand; Pop-up Globe, Australian Shakespeare Company, Essential Theatre, The Shift Theatre, La Mama, TheatreiNQ.
