Biography

Born in 1977, in Istanbul, Burcu Atkar graduated from the Psychology department of Bosphorus University and got her master's degree in Film Studies at the University of Southampton. She worked as an editor at the Turkish film magazine "Sinema", beggining her career as a film critic. She started her own company and worked as a film distributor of independent art house films such as Los Amantes del Circulo Polar and Dear Wendy for two years.
