Biography

Ângelo César Cardoso de Sousa was born on February 2, 1938, in Mozambique. Thanks to a scholarship in Fine Arts from the Caixa Económica Postal de Lourenço Marques, he moved to Portugal at the age of 17 and settled in Porto. He enrolled in the painting course at the Escola Superior de Belas Artes do Porto, where he studied from 1955 to 1963, soon joining the faculty for almost four decades and becoming the first full professor in Painting at that faculty, having retired in 2000.
