Overview

Bernières-sur-Mer is a small French commune in Calvados, Normandy. Located on the beaches where the Allied forces landed during World War II, it is one of the towns in the region closest to sea level. It is one of the French communes listed in the latest IPCC report as being subject to radical changes in the coming years.
