Roe Was Never Enough

Overview

This documentary follows the directors of Holler Health Justice, as they navigate their work amidst the changing landscape of reproductive healthcare in America. Both West Virginia natives, traditions of self sufficiency and pushing back against a long history of extraction inform how they show up in times of crisis. As the Trump administration slashes funding for research on reproductive healthcare and attacks the human rights of trans and non-binary people, the directors of Holler Health Justice are using the systems and community they’ve built to meet the moment. In mid-October, they headed to the Take Root conference in Kentucky to meet, learn and share with other “red state” groups and individuals working in the reproductive justice framework.
