Paradise

Overview

The video was created during Bárbara Sánchez Barroso's stay in Tunisia and explores the dichotomy between West and East, and how it is present in illegal migration as a metaphor: failed hopes and dreams, the subsequent encounter of a hostile reality; the difference between the migrant and the tourist; the dreamed paradise, the freedom sought in the face of failure. For this, the artist has based her work on several testimonies of young immigrants from the Tunisian coast, in Haouaria, a few hours from Italy.
