Needle Waltz

Overview

Needle Waltz is a meditation on the act of sewing and costume production fused with a dress rehearsal of the New York City Ballet. Extended shots of garment production are overlaid and augmented with found footage of music and previous Nutcracker ballet renditions. Together, the poetically layered combination evokes a dreamlike sensory experience of color, motion, and sound, reminiscent of the work of Stan Brakhage.
