Overview
During the Great Patriotic War, the Nazis recruited police officers from local residents of the occupied territories. They were entrusted with the dirtiest work: arresting innocent people, escorting them to concentration camps, and also killing neighbors and acquaintances, and sometimes even family members. In 1943, when Soviet soldiers entered the Rostov region, hundreds of traitors were arrested. The court sent many of them to penal battalions, and 11 executioners were executed.
