Overview

Inherent in these singular forms is a specific capacity—relative to a given state or genus—that is posited. Yet, every substantial form is unstable, or rather, constitutes a degree of potentiality-based variation. When substance is defined as a degree of power, we encounter a magnitude of force capable of intensifying or even diminishing that degree of power, thereby possessing a form of individuality. Thus, power becomes an experience of difference—the intrinsic power of a stone, a form, a human being, or an image.
