Epiphany

Overview

From the Madonna, the grieving mother of God, to Lilith, the rebel persecuted by men and their priests, to the refugee from Gaza or Aleppo, the figure of the veiled woman evokes diverse characters and situations, real or mythical. The one who walked elegantly before me one day in Oslo revealed this multifaceted representation to me. The light reflected with each sway in the folds of her satin veil rendered her opaque and translucent, so close and so distant, in space and time; a double movement of capture and liberation. "Epiphany" unfolds its diachronic presence.
