Overview

A dozen neighbors live in an old building at 54 Calle Amparo in Madrid. A Moroccan deaf who cares for another Spanish deaf, an English journalist, a homosexual tattoo artist, a Betty Boop fan grandmother, a Venezuelan illegal immigrant - Each one, in their own way, is witness to the changes in the Lavapiés neighborhood, in Spain and in themselves. Time passes for everyone, although at different speeds. Amparo 54 is a window on people's daily life and on how it is affected by socioeconomic processes on a global scale.
