Abei Is Missing

Overview

On a November night last year, I was driving home along l Highway 1 in Longtan, Tainan. In the middle of the road, an elderly man had fallen from his motorcycle. I helped him to his feet — but he declined my offer to call the police, got back on his bike, and disappeared into the night. What followed was a series of events that sent me searching for the ah-peh who had vanished.
